Last weekend EC were out in force as we travelled up to London to celebrate our 30th anniversary. On Saturday daytime, all staff were treated to a trip on the world famous London eye, to view the sites and landmarks of the capital. This was then complimented by a high speed RIB river cruise down the Thames complete with adrenaline, excitement and an extremely knowledgeable tour guide who taught staff all about the history of the river itself and the landmarks that sit on its banks.

In the Evening, staff were then in attendance for a drinks reception at the luxurious Park Plaza Hotel in Westminster where they were also staying that night. Gifts were given out to the Directors to celebrate the anniversary in the form of some amusing caricatures of each one. It was also at this point a presentation was given to announce the sad departure of Marketing Coordinator Malcolm Lobb after over a decade of service to the company, who is now retiring. There was also one final special presentation for John Simmonds, who founded the company 30 years ago in his garage and has seen it grow into the multi million pound business it is today.

After the reception staff then boarded a river cruise boat where they received a delicious four course meal and live entertainment, all whilst cruising the Thames and watching the Sunset. It was a truly fantastic evening and EC Managing Director Phil Simmonds had this to say,

“It was a lovely evening and although we had to announce the sad departure of our colleague and friend Malcolm Lobb, we had a fantastic time. It was a celebration truly worthy of EC Electronics’ successful 30 years in the industry, it just shows how far we have come since my father founded the company all those years ago and I am looking forward to a bright and successful future.”
