UK Operations
E C 's UK operation is located in Basingstoke, Hampshire and provides a
comprehensive range of Electronics Manufacturing Services, including PCB
Assembly, Cable & Harness Assembly, Full Product Assembly, Overmoulding, Potting
and Encapsulation.
EC Electronics Ltd was established in 1984 by Chairman of the Board, John Simmonds, as
a Contract Manufacturer providing Cable Assembly services.
Continued growth led to a move to our current factory and HQ site in 1999, where a full
range of PCB Assembly services, including Automatic Pick & Place Surface mount (SMT )
and conventional Plated Through Hole ( PTH ), was added to our capability portfolio.
Development of the manufacturing service capabilities continued with the introduction of
overmoulding, potting and encapsulation facilities. A ' special projects ' team was
introduced to provide low volume, high- value electromechanical build services to a
growing list of UK customers.
During 2006 EC invested heavily in new plant & equipment to meet the ‘lead free’ RoHS
European Directive.
A mezzanine floor was installed at our Basingstoke factory in October 2008, consolidating
UK services into one unit to maximise operational efficiency. The additional space
incorporates our bonded warehouse, computerised carousel and cell based manufacturing
facilities to meet specific client requirements.
